Both 2009 World Champion Jenson Button and 2008 World Champion Lewis Hamilton started their motor racing careers at a young age in karting and both regularly raced at Buckmore. Virtually every F1 driver started in karting and any of them will tell you that the skills learned in karting are amazingly similar to what is required to drive a Formula One car well.

Not every driver will be able to make it to the very top but the karting you do at Buckmore will certainly set you up for whatever level of motorsport you make it to.

Your start in Junior Club may well have whet your appetite to begin a hopefully meteoric rise up the ladder and you are wondering what your next step should be. Depending on the budget available to you, the next step is a move into Owner/Driver racing where you prepare and race your own kart.
