Buckmore Park Kart Training
Since 1972 the Kart School at Buckmore has been preparing drivers for success in motorsport and has trained more than 20 European and British kart champions, including former F1 driver Johnny Herbert.

Intro Kart School - The key to junior racing at Buckmore
The first time introductory session is for new pupils only and takes approximately one and a half hours. A safety briefing and track walk is followed by two ten minute timed sessions in a small group. Participants receive individual laptime analysis sheets and a certificate. The kart, helmet, race suit, gloves, rib protector and neck collar are all provided, as is use of the National circuit. The karts used are the 160cc four stroke Sodi karts as used in our Junior Club.
The cost is £79 per driver.
Racing line, braking point, turning in, hitting the apex and getting the power down at the optimum point. These are the techniques that every successful driver needs to know. Awareness in traffic, knowing overtaking opportunities and passing successfully are other techniques that are covered by Kart training.
Structured tuition is offered and is personalised for each driver. A 160cc kart, helmet, race suit, gloves, neck collar and rib protector are all provided, as is use of the National Circuit.
Drivers must be aged between 8 and 16 years of age and at least 4’2” in height. Full payment is required at the time of booking. All instructors are ARKS licensed. Each driver will receive a personal assessment, a lap by lap analysis and a certificate.
The cost is £99 per student.
The ARKS Test is intended for drivers with some previous karting experience who wish to apply for their MSA kart racing competition licence in order to compete in Owner/Driver MSA race meetings. The test is in two parts: theory and practical, and takes around four hours to complete. You will need to purchase an ARKS Starter Pack and complete the enclosed application. Places must be booked in advance.
The ARKS Starter Pack
You will need to purchase a Starting Karting ARKS Pack from the MSA https://www.msauk.org/Get-Started/Licence-Starter-Packs in order to take your ARKS Test. The pack contains everything you will need to know for the test, as well as a licence application form and lots of useful information to get you started. The pack price includes the cost of the first licence (including the PG licence if appropriate) The pack costs £60.00 inclusive and is available from the MSA.
